Private Transportation from Montego Bay Jamaica
If you are willing to pay extra for the convenience, hiring a private transportation company to pick you up from the airport would be a good idea.
A private chauffeur will usually meet you at your exit gate, accompany you to the baggage claim area, and help carry your bags to the vehicle. Their vehicles are more comfortable and spacious than a regular taxi cab. Vehicle types range from Luxury Sedans to Passenger Vans to Limousines.
You have arrived at Montego Bay International Airport and gotten your bags, now what? You have a few transportation options to get from the airport to your hotel, or to Port Everglades for your cruise. Find detailed information and tips on each of your transportation options.
Take a Taxi
This is an easy and popular option, and may be best for a party of 1 or 2 people.
Take a Shared-Ride Shuttle
The Airport Shuttle is a shared-passenger van. It may be less expensive than a taxi, depending on how many people you have in your party.
Reserve Private Transportation
Private transportion might include a sedan, passenger van, or limousine – driven by a chauffeur. This option is the most comfortable, though it is sometimes more expensive than a taxi.
Take Public Transportation
For those whose main goal is to save money, public transportation is your best bet.
Rent a Car
If you will need a rental car during your trip, you can pick one up as soon as your plane arrives.
Take Your Hotel’s Pick-Up Service
Check with your hotel to see if they offer free airport shuttle service for guests. If so, ask them for detailed information about pick-up times and locations.
Ask a Friend to Pick You Up
If you have a friend or relative who is kind enough to pick you up at the airport, lucky you! Make sure they know the Driving Directions to the airport. They should be aware that there is no parking or waiting allowed on the curb outside of the airport terminal. They will need to park in short-term parking, or wait outside in the airport’s Cell Phone Waiting Area, until you call to tell them you are on the way.
